Back Where They Belong.

The NHL lockout has finally ended after a tentative agreement was made on a new collective bargaining agreement early this morning.

After a marathon of negotiations, the NHL and the Players Association (NHLPA) were finally able to agree to the framework of a new collective bargaining agreement. While there are legal things and small parts of it that need to be worked out (and the new CBA has to be approved by both sides and ratified) the important thing, and I can’t stress it enough, is that THE NHL IS BACK ON THE ICE!!!!

There will be about a week of training camp, and then the puck drops on what’s left of the 2012-2013 season. The abbreviated 48-game season is expected to begin in mid-January. Sure the Winter Classic and All Star weekend were casualties of the lockout (which really sucks), but at this point a 48-game season beats no season at all (for the second time in 7 years).

However, I am heading into this season with mixed emotions…
